LAMBRUSCO!

School went by very fast today, thankfully. I spent most of the time coloring with the kids and playing outside, which was a lot of fun. I also drew a picture of all of the kids in the class and the teachers and students were ecstatic. Paola kept screaming, 'Brava Mariel, brava!' and I was bombarded with more kisses and hugs than usual... it was too funny

After school I went home and started to prepare lunch for myself and Valentina--pasta (of course) and tomato sauce. Once we finished lunch I had some time before my 3:00 meeting so I used the time to call both Mom and Dad, which was really nice. (Callan, you're next on the list of people to call when I get a chance. ) I also got a pleasant surprise when a package came to the flat for me from Atlanta! Thanks Mom!!

We met at Calvino, which is the middle school next to Galilei, and talked about our experiences in the schools for four hours. We did a bit of planning for our end of the year party too, which was fun. The meeting, unfortunately, was ridiculously boring and went on for way longer than it should have. I guess school does have to fit into our busy schedule somewhere. Even though we are in the schools for four hours every day, it's nice that Dr. Butchart and Dr. Tolley are understanding and not expecting much from us in terms of our UGA classes.

After our meeting at the school was over we rode our bikes to a pizzeria for dinner. It was another long day, so our end of the table treated ourselves to several bottles of Lambrusco. Pizza, salad, Lambrusco, and gelato made for a very fun night. The girls on my trip are so fun and it's been great getting to know them. We've already started to talk about planning reunions once we're back in Athens, so it's good to know we're all going to keep in touch after our amazing Italy adventure is over.

We're going out tomorrow night with Matteo and his friends in downtown Modena and then we have to be at the train station at 7 A.M. on Saturday morning to leave for Florence. It's going to be a very fun and busy weekend so I won't have a chance to post anything while I'm gone, but I'll update my blog as soon as I get back from Florence! Ciao!!
